Getting There:

There are many ways to get to Delta from Salt Lake City.  You can drive south on I-15 to Santaquin, then take Highway 6 west through the town of Eureka on to Delta or take Redwood Road all the way to Highway 6 going on the west side of Utah Lake.  You can also go on I-15 south to Nephi, then west on Highway 132, then south on Highway 6 to Delta.  When you arrive at Delta, turn right onto Highway 50 and go west through town,  then turn south on Highway 257.  It is about 161 miles from Salt Lake City by way of Nephi and 149 by way of Eureka and Redwood Road.  We went to the Little Sage Valley turnoff N38°54.806' W112°48.927' is the turn off of Highway 257.  It is 30.5 miles from the turnoff of Highway 50.  It is a dirt road from Highway 257.  You will want to go west about 4 miles up the road and then park anywhere and call that your trailhead.

Riding Description

Trailheads are located at Johnson Pass at mile post 53 then west 9.7 to trailhead, Little Sage Valley at mile post 39 then 6.6 miles to trailhead, Cedar Pass at mile post 28 then west 1.9 miles and Headlight Canyon trailhead at milepost 23 then west 2.4 miles.  The riding is mostly on improved gravel roads.  There were some side trails and some of the connecting roads are two track truck width.  This mean you had one wheel riding on the bumping grass in the middle of the road.  You can also drive down to the lake bed which is dry but flat almost like the salt flats.  There are many loops, with the largest being almost 60 miles.  The area has over 120 miles of official trails and many side roads.  Remember to leave gates as you found them.

Elevation 4,750 to 6,200 feet.
